Carol has always pursued fitness activities, including swimming, running, strength and aerobic exercise. She always made time to work out, despite working full time and bringing up three boys!
Carol was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease in her early 20’s. Pilates enabled her to maintain a level of fitness and a sense of control, whilst also helping her manage the impact of her condition and recover more quicky following
surgery or other issues.
Having spent 35 years in senior change and programme management in the NHS, Carol chose Pilates as her new adventure. Carol recognises many of her change management skills are transferrable to teaching Pilates, understanding individual goals and the steps needed to achieve them.
Carol initially completed her Mat Pilates teaching qualification, more recently qualifying as a Reformer and Tower Pilates instructor under the fantastic tuition of Lindsey and Jenny here at Clinic Equilibrium. (Not that we’re biased!)
Carol hopes to inspire others with their own challenges by showing how fitness - and Pilates in particular - can help you manage and overcome these difficulties. She says that we can all surprise ourselves with what we can achieve - regardless of our age! - with a bit of determination and self-belief 👊
