Claire first discovered the benefits of Pilates after her first-born arrived in 2009. Mat-based Pilates was where she discovered the true meaning of wellness through movement. Claire started weekly reformer classes at Clinic Equilibrium in 2016. She then decided to become a Pilates teacher herself!
Claire completed her Body Control Mat Pilates training in 2018 and has been teaching with us ever since!
Claire has a keen interest in women’s health and completed ‘Menopause Awareness for Pilates Teachers’ training in 2021. She’s also attended an ‘Adore Your Pelvic Floor’ workshop and is trained in Pfilates which can help pelvic floor dysfunction (such as UI or prolapse). She’s taken courses on the use of foam rollers in teaching, and on how Pilates can treat musculoskeletal disorders. Claire has a thorough understanding of the mental health benefits of exercise, and has completed Mind’s ‘Mental Health Awareness for Sport & Physical Activity’ run by 1st4Sport.
“I learnt the benefits of Pilates first-hand over 10 years ago now. It has provided me with a sense of total well-being and also taught me the importance of developing core strength and proper alignment.
“I am passionate about Pilates! I love to teach clients to improve their own sense of well-being. I believe Pilates is a journey, and with that comes hard work but also the opportunity to have a lot of fun.”
